No photoshop necessary for those jersey swaps! The Seattle Seahawks have signed D’Anthony Bell to a contract, after he played most of last season with the eventual Super Bowl champions, before being claimed off of waivers by the Carolina Panthers.
The former undrafted free agent had a 3-year stint with the Cleveland Browns before coming to Seattle and showing off some impressive plays on special teams. The Seahawks have made a push to prioritize the third phase of the game under Mike Macdonald, topping the league in spend on special teams in the 2025 season.
Bell will provide intriguing depth behind Julian Love, and the (presumably) suddenly important Ty Okada on the back end. D’Anthony Bell was also utilized a bit in the slot position on defense during the preseason, so a player that can learn from Nick Emmanwori’s versatile role in any way possible is a potential role for him to take on.
Former starting safety Coby Bryant signed in Chicago early in free agency, so the Hawks were searching to bolster its depth. It helps to find that in a player already familiar with the organization, culture, and playbook.
