Real Madrid have renewed Alejandro Castaño’s contract until 2030, according to a report from AS, securing the future of a promising defender in their academy.
The 17-year-old centre-back from Avilés is already part of Madrid’s Juvenil A squad. He is one of the standout prospects in his position at La Fábrica, with the new agreement extending his stay as he continues his development at Valdebebas.
Castaño’s route to Madrid included several stops. He began playing at CD Quirinal in his hometown before
joining Sporting de Gijón, where he spent five years. His performances subsequently earned him a move to Villarreal’s academy.
During that period, Castaño gained experience at Under-15 level and spent a year on loan at La Roda, competing against players three years his senior. His progress eventually brought him to the attention of Real Madrid.
The move also fulfilled a longstanding personal ambition. According to AS, Castaño grew up supporting Madrid, owning several players’ shirts and holding a Madridista membership card. Among his favourite childhood memories were personalised birthday messages from the club featuring Sergio Ramos and Marcelo.
Now, with his future reportedly settled until 2030, Castaño will continue his development at the club he supported long before joining its academy.
