Josh Allen has hardly been himself the past two weeks as a runner, but the Buffalo Bills quarterback is not blaming a sudden lack of scrambling production on an injury.
He had 13 carries for 22 yards rushing combined against the Chargers and Patriots, which included a five-carry, four-yard effort in Week 4’s loss.
But it’s not just the lacking production that’s caught everyone’s attention.
In both the Chargers and Patriots games, it appeared as though Allen passed up clear scrambling opportunities,
something Allen hardly does.
After the Week 3 win over Los Angeles, speculation swirled that Allen injured his knee in the fourth quarter. After Thursday’s practice in preparation for the Rams on Monday Night Football in Week 5, Allen said the following regarding said speculation:
A pretty strong statement from Allen. And now, we have to take him at his word. Of course, we’ll all continue to be monitoring whether or not he runs as frequently and is as effective as normal.
In 2024 against the Rams, Allen ran 10 times for 82 yards with three touchdowns. In the first two games of the this season, Allen toted the rock 20 times for 92 yards with four scores.
