Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being
churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that — rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track rumor accuracy in a weekly feature called Rumor Look Back you can find here. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer heard that the reason why Andrade was able to return to AEW so soon after his WWE exit is because there was no non-compete clause in place: “He was fired.”
- For whatever it’s worth, people in AEW who know Andrade told Meltzer, “He’ll always think of Tony Khan as secondary to WWE, no matter what…we’re asking for trouble.”
- Gail Kim told the HUGE POP! podcast that she heard from “AEW former people that work there” who said they were backstage and also felt uncomfortable watching Riho’s matches.
- According to Fightful Select, two factors behind NJPW’s reduced touring schedule in the USA this year are declining ticket sales and NJPW wrestlers not wanting to make the trip.
- MJF is shown on the graphic for AEW’s two shows in the UK in mid-December, which has led to speculation that he will return to the promotion by then.
- Fightful mentioned that Dakota Kai recently had new gear made for her return to pro wrestling.
- Per Meltzer, the reason why hotel prices will be jacked up for the week of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas is because “everyone knows there is no WrestleMania in 2027” in the USA, so the demand for hotels in 2026 is expected to be “way up.”
