Hansi Flick sprung a surprise with his Barcelona starting XI to face Paris Saint-Germain
in the Champions League on Tuesday night. The German coach has left Rodri out of his line-up, opting for a midfield three of Pedri, Marc Bernal and Dani Olmo instead.
Rodri is reportedly not quite 100% for the match, with Flick quizzed on his team selection ahead of kick-off at the Parc des Princes.
“We must be careful with all the players, also with the internationals. Rodri has played the last three games, we
have decided that he will start on the bench. We trust Marc Bernal,” he told Movistar.
“Both teams are going to try to have the ball and chances in transition. The important thing is not to lose the ball, keep our distances and be compact.”
Barcelona will be eager to beat PSG but also face another crucial game at the weekend when they take on Real Madrid in El Clasico, another reason behind Flick’s team selection for tonight’s big game.
