UFC 320 went down last night (Sat., Oct. 4, 2025) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada which saw Alex Pereira reclaim the Light Heavyweight title in impressive fashion by absolutely running over Magomed Ankalaev en route to securing a first-round knockout victory (see it again here). In the co-main event, Merab Dvalishvili
dominated Cory Sandhagen for five rounds to secure his third straight Bantamweight title defense (video replay here).
Biggest Winner: Alex Pereira
“Poatan” is once again sitting atop the 205-pound division
by reclaiming the strap he lost earlier this year in dominant fashion. Indeed, Pereira wasted no time in going right after the now-former champion, Ankalaev, taking it to him from the opening bell before dropping him and finishing with relentless ground and pound…and it took all of 85 seconds. Pereira showed once again why it was too soon to start counting him out, and he gave fight fans a treat by showing no fear and proving that if you are going to go blow-for-blow for him in a barn-burner it won’t end well for you. Now that he is on top of the MMA world once more, the towering Brazilian could start setting his sights on fresh blood, in particular Carlos Ulberg.

Runners Up: Jiri Prochazka and Merab Dvalishvili
For two rounds, Prochazka couldn’t seem to get much going against Khalil Rountree. For his part “War Horse” came in with a great game-plan and tagged the big man with some heavy shots. Prochazka looked as if he was injured, but still managed to make it to round three. And that’s when things took a turn in his favor, as he decided to make the fight dirty and introduced chaos into the fray, throwing caution to the wind and letting it all hang out. That’s when he started to find success with his strikes, which came from all over the place and Rountree looked stumped for the first time in the fight. Knowing he needed a finish, Prochazka unloaded everything he had until he landed a fight-finishing combo that put Rountree on the canvas and out for the count. It was a great come-from-behind win for Prochazka, who kept himself in great position at the top of the championship picture, though I am not sure it was good enough to surpass the aforementioned Carlos Ulberg. Nevertheless, it was a great win for “Denisa.”

As for Dvalishvili, he secured his third consecutive title defense with a dominate win over Cory Sandhagen, upping his win streak to 14 straight, proving that he is without a doubt one of the best pound-for-pound best fighters in the world. What was impressive about his most recent victory was that while he dominated the fight in the wrestling department, as usual, Merab showed off his striking attack, dropping “Sandman” and almost finished him with a flurry. Dvalishvili is simply levels above the rest of the division and he looks pretty much unbeatable at this point.

Biggest Loser: Magomed Ankalaev
Rarely does a champion lose his belt in less than 90 seconds, but that’s just what happen to the big Russian bruiser after getting annihilated by Pereira in violent fashion. Ankalaev didn’t have the opportunity to put much of an offensive attack because “Poatan” was in his face from the moment the opening bell sounded. After getting wobbled, all Ankalaev could do was shoot for a weak takedown that was stuffed. From there, the next step was to cover up and pray the big elbows and punches didn’t land cleanly before the ref put an end to the fight. His title reign comes to a quick end, and it is highly-unlikely he will get an immediate rematch.
