Bayern Munich had to work to get all three points against Bundesliga newcomers SV Elversberg. Bayern won 2-1 with goals from Lennart Karl and Harry Kane, the latter of which was assisted by Aleksandar Pavlović. Speaking after the game, the 22-year-old midfielder praised the home side Elversberg for their fearlessness and the team’s resilience.
“I thought Elversberg did well and made it difficult for us,” Pavlović said (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “We should be doing better than in the first
half. We were much better in the second half. Kratti scored a great goal for them, but we kept going and did well to get the win.”
Pavlović also talked about the sequence leading up to Kane’s goal: “I make runs into the box sometimes when there’s an opportunity, and when Jo [Kimmich] is covering for me. Usually I play the more defensive role [in the double pivot], but we often switch roles, with Tom as well. I made the run into the box and am happy Harry managed to score.”
