Two Duke rookies saw NBA exhibition action Sunday night with Tyrese Proctor and Khaman Maluach getting time with the Cavaliers and Suns respectively.
Proctor got his first career start and finished with 12 points, four assists and one steal. He continues to look like a steal for the Cavs.
To be clear, the Cavs chose to sit Donovan Mitchell and Lonzo Ball is listed as Not With Team. Still, it shows a lot of trust to put Proctor in as a starter.
Meanwhile, Maluach got 12 minutes off the bench for Phoenix
and he got seven points, two rebound and one steal.
Fellow Brotherhood member Grayson Allen got nine points, three rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
It’s a solid night for Proctor. As we saw at Duke, a lot of Malauch’s presence is in his deterrence around the basket. He’s still pretty raw but Duke fans have a pretty good idea of his potential.
