The Las Vegas Raiders are making moves at cornerback.
Let’s take a look where the position stand as free agency starts.:
New free agent added:
None.
Free agent who departed:
None.
Free agent who returned:
Eric Stokes on a three-year, $30 million deal.
Current free agents:
Darnay Holmes
Traded for:
Taron Johnson from Buffalo Bills, who were going to release Johnson. The Bills got a sixth-round pick and the Raiders got a seventh rounder.
Released:
None.
Returners:
Darian Porter, Decamerion Richardson, Kyu Blu Kelly,
Greedy Vance, Chigozie Anusiem
Conclusion:
Stokes was a bright spot for Las Vegas last year as the former first-round pick played on a one-year deal. Johnson, 29, is three seasons removed from being a second-team All-Pro at nickel. Porter showed some promise as a rookie. Still, expect Las Vegas to add to the position in free agency and the draft, perhaps as early as the No. 14 overall pick acquired in the Maxx Crosby trade with the Baltimore Ravens.
