The Seattle Seahawks (3-2) and Denver Broncos (3-2) have the same record through five games, just as they were in 2025. However, neither has looked particularly sharp to start the year, and there could be alarm bells going off for the loser of this one. Seattle is coming off a devastating defeat against the San Francisco 49ers, while the Broncos had to scrape past an 0-5 Los Angeles Chargers team.
Seattle finds itself two games back of the 49ers in the NFC West, so there’s little room for error the rest
of the way. Denver is similarly two games back in the loss column to the Kansas City Chiefs, so any thought of winning the division might be at stake here. The Seahawks are relatively healthy entering this game, with only starting linebacker Drake Thomas and special teams ace Chazz Surratt ruled out among those on the 53-man roster. Denver will be without Patrick Surtain II and Talano Hufanga, two-thirds of a standout secondary. Riley Moss is questionable to play, so the Broncos could be really shorthanded in the back-end.
Oh yes, and Mike Macdonald gets to go up against Sean Payton. That should be fun. Probably more fun than the recent performances of quarterbacks Sam Darnold and Bo Nix, who need to get going sooner rather than later if either team wants a deep playoff run again.
