BOSTON — Nikola Vucevic has been ruled out for the rest of Saturday’s game between the Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks after suffering a right ring finger fracture. The Celtics announced the injury in the middle of the second quarter.
Vucevic has only played two minutes of Friday’s game before he headed to the locker room, clutching his hand. Luka Garza subbed in for him and finished out the quarter. The
injury came just minutes after Jayson Tatum returned from a nearly 10-month-long absence after rupturing his Achilles tendon last April.
Vucevic has appeared in 11 games for the Celtics since being acquired at the trade deadline by the Bulls in the trade that sent Anfernee Simons to Chicago.
So far this season, he’s averaged 11.4 points and 7.8 rebounds in 23.5 minutes across 11 games.
