The White Sox and Guardians are the only teams to take their ALDS all the way to the limit. It’s been a battle of bad offenses to this point, with the Guardians exploding all over White Sox postseason hero Grant Taylor in Game 4 to force the winner-take-all finale.
Gavin Williams, the veteran ace of the Guardians, will take the ball in the top of the first inning. The White Sox, who have mostly leaned on their bullpen through the first six games of their 2026 playoff experience, will turn to the closest
thing they have to their own ace in Sean Burke to start things off. This is a series finale, though, so expect all hands on deck and to potentially even see guys who pitched a lot on Thursday night like Parker Messick and Erick Fedde take the ball.
I can’t promise the baseball will be good, but it should at least be fun!
