Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon appeared in court today in Stamford, Connecticut for the latest hearing on his reckless driving case stemming from a late July crash that caused multiple cars to be totaled.
Police said McMahon was driving over 90 miles per hour at the time of the crash.
Today’s court ruling was a win for McMahon, who did not have to enter a guilty plea. He was accepted into a pretrial probationary program where the charges will be dropped in one year (on Oct. 15, 2026) if he donates $1,000 to charity, follows traffic laws, and stays out of trouble.
McMahon’s lawyer Mark Sherman said his client was grateful after the ruling was issued.
“Today the judge granted our motion to suspend and dismiss the case. It will be dismissed in one year, fully expunged, no guilty plea. And look, not every car accident is a crime. The judge recognized that, and there is a path here for dismissal. And that’s what happened here, this was an accident. Again, we’re just grateful for this ruling today.”
According to the New Haven Register, McMahon did not speak in court, and he didn’t answer questions from the media. He did sign some autographs and take pictures with fans before taking off in a waiting Cadillac SUV, hopefully at a reasonable speed.

Jim Ross is among the people in the wrestling world who have said they will never drive in a car with Vince again after witnessing his wild tendencies on the road firsthand. Do you think he can make it until next October without screwing up this potential dismissal of his reckless driving charge? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.
