The first Nittany Lion is off the board for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Guard Vega Ioane was selected with the 14th pick of the first round by the Baltimore Ravens. He was the first interior offensive lineman picked in the draft, and fourth overall offensive lineman taken.
Ioane came to Penn State as a three-star prospect with a huge upside. At 6-5, 320 lbs., Ioane already had a Big Ten body with surprising mobility. It didn’t take long for Ioane to become a fan favorite, often being used in motion to get
a running start at the poor defender on the opposite side of the line.
Ioane developed into one of the best guards in the nation, proving consistent in both run and pass blocking. He became known for a nasty streak, using his imposing size to regularly maul defenders and especially excel as a run blocker. Ioane ended his senior year being named a first-team All-American and first-team Big Ten Selection.
