Not sure what’s going on with our team, but they’re dropping like flies. Maybe they all boarded Flight 180, but DK caused a scene and disembarked before the plane exploded. Now the injury reaper is coming for each of them. Ironic that the healthiest WR is named Germie. Let’s hope the team bus never ends up behind a logging truck.

A piece of local news from my hometown of Erie, PA: an 8 year-old girl was told she had to stop playing football in the Catholic school league due to a decades old rule banning girls from playing football. There was a girl in my class in the 1990s who also played football before the rule was written, and she was told girls shouldn’t play football due to “Catholic morals”, so it’s not a new thing. I was sent this change.org petition: https://www.change.org/p/reinstate-imogen-painter-s-football-eligibility-and-change-diocese-rules (NOTE: change.org asks for donations if sign for a petition, but it doesn’t go to the individuals nor the petition itself. It is not a go-fund-me.)

Earlier this year, I (47M) got a new job as a defensive coordinator for a blue collar town team, The Minesville Ironmen. I brought in a former coworker (32M, we’ll call him Papertakeoff Bobs) as a LB who tackles problems directly. Papertakeoffs can’t cover much, but he is good at what he does. This summer we had to make some tough cuts, and I didn’t fight for Papertakesoff. Now, after losing some people, we’re bringing him back.
