Penn State’s wide receiver room got bit by the injury bug in the lead up to the season opener, as BWI reports that redshirt freshman wideout Josiah Brown is set to “miss significant time” with an injury.
Brown was a four-star speedster in the 2024 class who came to Penn State after missing his senior season with a knee injury. He redshirted last year as he rehabbed back, but did
start dressing for games as the season went on. While there’s been no confirmation that this injury ties to the injury he suffered in high school, it’s obviously not ideal for a young player like Brown to essentially miss two full years of football.
As far as what this means for the Nittany Lions on the field in 2025, it did not appear that Brown was slated for much playing time. James Franklin told the media on Monday that transfers Kyron Hudson, Trebor Pena, and Devonte Ross would be the starters, with Koby Howard, Tyseer Denmark, and Liam Clifford being in the rotation.
Here’s to no more serious injury posts the rest of this week. *fingers crossed*
