Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Brandon Johnson is signing with the Las Vegas Raiders, per Aaron Wilson. The Steelers released Johnson on Tuesday to make room for punter Aidan Laros, whom they claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Johnson may have a better chance of earning a roster spot with the Raiders, whose receiving corps is much thinner than that of Pittsburgh. After trading Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars at the trade deadline last season, the Raiders top receiver
became Tre Tucker, who will likely still be the No. 1 entering 2026. Jack Bech and free agent signing Jalen Nailor will make up the top three wideouts.
Johnson will compete with the likes of 2025 fourth-round pick Donte Thornton Jr, 2026 sixth-round pick Malik Benson, and Dareke Young, who has just two career catches.
