FanDuel Odds & Thoughts
Utah State/Washington State: +1.5 Utah State, O/U 57.5
- FanDuel thinks this will be a hard-fought, close game that should come right down to the end. Expect a fairly low-scoring game as well.
The Aggies boast one of the top players in the Mountain West, Bryson Barnes, leading their offense. Everything flows through him. He makes plays on deep throws, designed runs, and improvises with his legs. His play have contributed to Utah State having one of the best offenses in the conference this season and it won’t be easy for the Cougars to stop Barnes or the rest of the offense.
However, the USU defense has left a lot to be desired this year, turning in many inconsistent and downright bad performances. They have some strong players, but will need to have a great performance to pull this game off.
On the other hand, Washington State was 6-6 this year, playing a mix of games against ranked teams and lesser opponents. They beat two MW teams this season, blowing out San Diego State and holding Colorado State to a field goal. Their defense has been one of the better units in the country this season, but the offense has left a lot to be desired.
Overall, it should be a matchup of strength against strength, with the Aggie offense testing the Cougar defense and vice versa.
