Hansi Flick has come in for praise for his work at Barcelona and been told that the squad is more than the sum of its parts with the German boss in charge.
Barcelona won three trophies last season, have already landed the Spanish Super Cup in the current campaign and remain in the mix in La Liga and the Champions League.
Flick has had to work under financial restraints since joining Barcelona and his effect on the squad has been hailed by former Espanyol star Moisés Hurtado.
“I think Flick is a genius
and what he’s doing with Barça is spectacular. This Barça owes him practically everything, because he’s increased the value of all its players,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“I think the current squad is worse than what Flick is doing with it.”
Flick will be hoping to add to his squad in the summer and has seen presidential candidates Victor Font and Joan Laporta have plenty to say about potential transfers in the build-up to the election.
The Barca boss will have to wait to see what funds are available, but at the moment it’s thought Deco and Co will try to bring in a center-back and/or a center-forward.
