Atletico Madrid have issued a strong response to increasing speculation that Barcelona are set to make an offer for Julian Alvarez.
The Catalans have already agreed a deal for Anthony Gordon and are now expected to try and test Atletico’s resolve with an offer of around 100 million euros.
However, Atletico seem to be getting fed up with the whole saga and have made their frustrations at the speculation clear.
Sources close to the club have told Mundo Deportivo and AS: “He is not for sale. The club has
not received any offers for the player, nor have any meetings taken place.
“Fed up with months and months of lies, half-truths, and fabricated stories like house purchases in Barcelona or absurd questions posed to our players. Barcelona is behaving like a small-team in this whole Julián affair.”
Atletico are also confident Alvarez can not be blamed for any of the rumors, adding: “The player is not guilty. Julián behaved impeccably, and this is an external matter.”
