Barcelona have confirmed that Ferran Torres will miss Saturday’s clash with Girona after failing to shrug off a knock.
The Spain star returned early from international duty due to an overload but is still feeling the effects and has added to Hansi Flick’s injury problems for the match.
Here’s Barcelona’s statement:
“First team player Ferran Torres will miss tomorrow’s match against Girona as a precaution, due to discomfort stemming from the hamstring overload in his left leg, sustained during the international
break.”
Ferran joins Raphinha, Gavi, Dani Olmo, Robert Lewandowski, Joan Garcia and Marc-Andre ter Stegen in missing the game. Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal are also doubtful but it’s hoped they can play some part.
Hansi Flick does have Marcus Rashford and Roony Bardghji available, while Alejandro Balde was reportedly tested at left wing in training on Friday morning.
Youngsters Toni Fernandez and Dro could also be options to play on Saturday, with Flick forced to make changes due to his injury crisis.
