Day 6 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Tuesday, August 4. I was in attendance, so here is a mixture of my personal report of the experience, and the usual aggregated media notes.
Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report – Day 6 (8/4/26)
1. Live from Berea: I made my annual trip to Berea, Ohio on Tuesday, the third practice date open to fans, to watch Cleveland Browns training camp in person. My primary reason for going to camp each year is to enjoy the fan atmosphere at camp, as opposed to paying attention to practice itself (because for the most
part, I can still summarize the big plays from all the other members of the media).

2. Construction of District 46 Taking Shape: In the image comparison below, if you roll over the slider, the image with grass was from last year (2025), and the image with construction is from today (2026). Signs on the fence say that it will be completed by Summer 2027, so this time next year, I’d expect to be able to give a walking tour of the finished area.
We’ve seen renderings of the area before, but here was one of the banners on the fence. The middle of the picture would be looking down Pearl Street. The finished product is supposed to have a community field for youth, high school, and adults, a hotel, a sports medicine facility by University Hospitals, apartments, 30,000 square footage of retail, and a parking garage. Considering the mockup shows several surface lots, which already seem completed in large part, I’m not sure if a garage is still in the works.
I could not go down Pearl Street, because security was enforcing no pedestrians and were only waving members of the media through. That is presumably for construction purposes — I’m sure next year, anyone will be able to walk down the area. Unfortunately, they also got rid of the tiny neighborhood park where I would park my bicycle all this years when going to camp.
3. Making My Way Inside: After checking out that initial construction, I made the regular journey down Third Street and then Beech Street, seeing houses sell parking spaces for $20 and a few houses having vendor stands in their yards.
Gates opened at 12:30 pm, with practice set to start at 1:30 pm. I arrived closer to 1:00 pm, so I knew I wasn’t going to be one of the first 500 fans to receive the giveaway (a Browns hat). This year, the Browns added a long set of bleachers opposite the field that has the tall grandstand bleachers, which means regardless of which field the team is practicing on, there should be ample seating space for everyone in attendance.
The theme of the day was Superhero Day. Brownie the Elf had a Superman cape, and the dog mascot (which I don’t remember seeing before) looked like Iron Man. I also saw the Puppy Pound, and they had a mock field of what a portion of the new stadium will look like in Brookpark.

In the gallery below, a zoomed in shot shows the University Hospitals building being constructed. In front of that, but within the Browns fields, are the new bleachers along that side with plenty of seating.
4. Heavy on the Runs Early: When it’s training camp time, fans look forward to the passing plays and how the quarterbacks are throwing. In the early part of team drills, though, it seemed like 80% of the calls were run plays. That didn’t stop the defense from being fired up with a handful of stops in the backfield:

5. Rest Day for Concepcion: Before practice, head coach Todd Monken said that WR KC Concepcion was fine and just a little sore after he went down at the end of practice yesterday. He did some individual work today, but was rested for team drills.
6. Smooth Sailing: It was good to see K Andre Szmyt nailing his field goal attempts.
7. At Last, A Pass: After a bunch of runs early on, one of the first downfield passes I saw completed was QB Shedeur Sanders hitting WR Gage Larvadain down the middle. Sanders may have had too much time to throw, but still:
8. How’d He Hang On? How did WR Isaiah Bond hang on to this ball after it was tipped by CB Myles Bryant?
9. Not the Sharpest Gabriel: Every QB may have a down day, so was this the one for QB Dillon Gabriel? He’s been praised thus far, but I saw one simple sideline throw airmailed over the receiver, and he was also picked off later in practice by S Christopher Edmonds in 7-on-7 drills.
10. Not a Banner Day: As you can see from the ESPN tracker, besides QB Shedeur Sanders today, the quarterbacks didn’t get many throws in. Offensive execution in the little bit of 11-on-11 drills was not at a premium either.
11. Camp Chatter: It’s been a few years since I’ve done a camp chatter section on the day I attended, simply because I haven’t spent much time in the bleachers at practice. But, I did pick up some things of what fans were talking about (each bullet point is typically a different fan):
- “Is [Kareem] Hunt still out there [in free agency]? He’s a guy who gave 110%.”
- “[Hunt] hated Stefanski, he was horrible in the 4th quarter. He throws the ball instead of running the clock out. 4th and 2, we had P.J. Walker, instead of giving it to Hunt, Walker throws it to the helmet of the defender, and Hunt was screaming at Stefanski afterward.”
- “Stefanski never blamed anybody, he always said it was everybody’s [fault]. But it was those damn plays that lost the games, you idiot.”
- “What are they building over there?” one fan said with respect to all the construction.
- “What are those other helmets?” a fan asked, referring to the Guardian caps. Someone replied, “Guardian helmets to prevent concussions.” They said the caps felt the same as a regular helmet.
- “KC! Let’s go baby!” a group said out loud for WR KC Concepcion.
- “I wonder where Tony Grossi is? Last year, he was walking back and forth.”
12. Brownies: When asked before practice about OL KT Leveston, head coach Todd Monken said he sees him as more of a guard than a tackle. … OG Teven Jenkins continues to miss practices. … The team was in pads today, will be in shells on Wednesday, and back to pads on Thursday. … DT Sam Kamara left practice very early on. … DT Mason Graham did not practice with a minor injury, and LB Carson Schwesinger was out again. … WR Aaron Anderson left early with the medical staff.
