Big Blue Nation has a jam-packed week with football and both basketball programs on deck.
First, the women’s basketball team begins its regular season tonight against Morehead State. The Wildcats are ranked No. 14 in the preseason poll with head coach Kenny Brooks entering his third season. Tip-off tonight is scheduled for 6:30 PM ET on SEC Network Plus.
They will also play Thursday (NKU at 6:30 PM ET, SEC Network Plus ) and Sunday (NC State at 3 PM ET, ESPN) of this week.
Tomorrow night, the men’s
basketball team will start their season with a home matchup against Manhattan. They are ranked No. 23 in the preseason polls as head coach Mark Pope also enters his third season. Tip-off for their season-opener is scheduled for 7 PM ET with coverage on SEC Network Plus.
The men’s team will also play on Friday against James Madison, with tip-off set for 7 PM ET and coverage on SEC Network.
While basketball is king in the Bluegrass state, football is on the front of every fan’s mind as the No. 8 Wildcats head to Knoxville for a throw-down against the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers.
Despite being ranked eight spots ahead in this week’s AP and Coaches Poll, Kentucky is a touchdown underdog and is being given just a 33.2% chance to win.
Kentucky controls its destiny for a spot in the SEC Championship game next month, but the road is far from easy, especially against a Vols program that’s dominated the series.
Kickoff for Saturday night’s big clash is scheduled for 6:15 PM ET with coverage on ESPN.
