While we cross our fingers and whatnot hoping Kevin Owens’ neck/spine issues don’t prohibit his return to the ring and that he won’t be in immense pain or somehow immobile as a result of said possible return, WWE has occasionally found ways to let us entertain us.
One of those was his appearance on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Want To Talk About? podcast last month. During KO’s wide-ranging talk with a vodka-sippin’ Rhodes, he at one point explained that while he likes Matt Cardona, he has two issues
with him. Owens hates his (and Bron Breakker’s) “wrestler tan”, and he thought it was ridiculous how much Cardona talked about returning to WWE while billing himself as “The Indy God” on the independent scene.
Taking his turn on the podcast rotation with Chris Van Vliet on Insight this week, Cardona revealed he didn’t like that clip much when it crossed his radar:
“Oh boy. Honestly, I was pissed! Because they made it seem that all I would say is I want to be back in WWE. Blah blah. I’d only talk about it when I’d be doing things like this, and you ask me a question. So it bothered me, but I’m over it now.”
While his anger was legitimate, the SmackDown talent says he’s moved on:
“Yes, it wasn’t malicious. I just did not appreciate that I didn’t get a chance to come on and tell my version until I got re-signed.”
