Osasuna winger Victor Muñoz is a player in demand this summer, following an eye-catching season in La Liga, despite his club finishing just outside the relegation zone.
Sunderland have previously been linked with him, Newcastle United are said to have made a bid for the player, and Real Madrid had been rumored to be interested in activating his buyback clause.
Spanish outlet Diario de Navarra say that Osasuna have not yet received communication of bids for the player, with the club unaware of the rumoured
€35m offer from Newcastle.
However, the report claims that Sunderland HAVE made a concrete proposal for Muñoz, making a verbal offer in January of €25m, plus Spanish u21 international Eliezer Mayenda on loan.
The player has a €40m release clause and, as well as a buyback clause, Real Madrid also have right to match any potential offer for the player.
Sunderland have also been linked with another winger, as the Summer transfer window hots up.
According to La Gazette Du Fennec, Sunderland, along with Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bournemouth, have Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa on their radar.
That will be good news to player who told AD that he would prefer to head to the Premier League, should he leave the Dutch club:
I’m open to all options. Maybe Feyenoord wants to sell me, maybe not. We’ll see. If I were to leave, I’d prefer to go to England. I think I could also play in Spain with my style of play. Or in France. They’re also fantastic footballing nations. But the Premier League is the best league in the world.
Moussa made headlines last night when he scored the winner, against a debuting Robin Roefs as Algeria beat Netherlands 1-0.
