Since the inception of Texas A&M Soccer in 1993, just one man has been at the helm of the program. Coach G Gurrieri’s tenure ended earlier this year when he announced his retirement. The Aggies have found their replacement, as it was announced that former Florida State assistant Bobby Shuttleworth will take over for Gurrieri. Shuttleworth won a national championship twice as an assistant with Florida State, including this year’s 1-0 victory over Stanford. The Noles also won a title with Shuttleworth as an assistant coach
in 2023. During his time as a player, Shuttleworth was a keeper for multiple teams in the MLS and USL. He played his college soccer at Buffalo before moving on to professional soccer.
Texas A&M soccer has a rich program history, including 26 straight postseason appearances from 1995 to 2020. Coach Shuttleworth will look to lead Texas A&M Soccer back to its winning ways after the Aggies finished below .500 the last two seasons and failed to advance to the NCAA tournament. 2026 marks the start of a new era for the program. Stay tuned.
