Claudia Pina scored four times on Sunday as Barcelona Femeni hammered Real Madrid 7-0 at Camp Nou in El Clasico to maintain their perfect start to the season.
The Barcelona star needed just four minutes to open the scoring, showing great skill to dribble past several defenders in the penalty area and then poke the ball home.
Barcelona should then have been awarded
a penalty when Arianna Caruso clearly pulled Sydney Schertenleib’s shirt inside the box but somehow VAR decided there was no offence and the hosts were denied.
Madrid may have escaped that one but they could do nothing about an inspired Pina. The second goal came from her boot just before the half hour when she latched onto a rebound to make it 2-0.
Pina then completed her hat-trick before the half-time whistle was blown, combining well with Patri Guijarro before finding the back of the net to claim the match ball.
Barcelona weren’t done there, either. Caroline Graham Hansen made it 4-0, slotting home a left-footed finish before Pina swapped passes with Pajor and then lashed home from inside the box.
The second half began in very much the same vein, with Barca scoring again to make it 6-0. Graham Hansen latched onto a through ball and unselfishly squared for Pajor to knock home.
The icing on the cake was applied late on by Sydney, who capped off a fantastic performance from Barca Femeni with a stunning goal.
The Swiss star fired home a great finish from the edge of the box, finding the top corner to complete the humiliation for Madrid in front of 40,533 spectators at Camp Nou.
