Barcelona’s injury problems are growing again with Ronald Araujo and Marc Bernal both forced off against Atletico in La Liga on Saturday night.
Araujo started the game at right-back but asked to be subbed and was replaced by Bernal in the first half of the match in the Spanish capital.
The Uruguayan could then be seen sitting on the bench with an ice pack and appears to have picked up some kind of muscular injury.
Yet his replacement did not finish the match. He had to go off just after the hour mark
in what will be a real blow to Hansi Flick at a crucial stage in the season.
The two players now look to be serious doubts for the midweek game against Atletico in the Champions League, while Frenkie de Jong may not be back for that game either.
The Dutchman has still not been passed fit by Barcelona and is currently expected to sit out the midweek clash with Diego Simeone’s side.
