The Kentucky Wildcats moved to 16-7 on the season following their win over the Oklahoma Sooners on Wednesday night. In a game where Otega Oweh did his thing and Brandon Garrison stepped up off the bench, the Cats shared the ball well all night long, finishing with 21 assists on 30 made field goals.
According to the UK statistician, Corey Price, this is the first time since 2004-05 that the Wildcats had six players with at least three assists each against an SEC opponent. The Wildcats swung the rock
all night, and it worked out quite well for Mark Pope’s squad.
In Wednesday night’s win over the Sooners, the Wildcats had a 21:6 assist-to-turnover ratio. If they can keep doing this, they’ll be hard to beat.
Starting point guard Denzel Aberdeen led the Wildcats with five assists on the night. Five players also totaled three assists for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday night inside Rupp Arena as they face the Tennessee Volunteers. Looking for the season sweep, I expect the Cats to keep sharing the ball and stay hot.
