For the past 147 days, Liv Morgan has been women’s world champion, a reign marked largely by the fact that she rarely actually defended the title. Part of that was due to circumstance, with injuries and creative combining to leave her without a clear direction that actually involved a worthy challenger. Hell, they had to put her in the Queen of the Ring tournament for the right to challenge for a title!
All that changed when both Stephanie Vaquer and Becky Lynch returned to television around the same
time, with both making it clear they were coming for her title. Vaquer got the first crack at it, her latest shot coming at the WWE house show event tonight (Sat., Sept. 12, 2026) in Santiago, Chile. We should have known something could be afoot, considering Raw General Manager Adam Pearce publicly declared Lynch would serve as guest referee for Vaquer challenging Morgan for the title at the aforementioned house show.
And, well…
Per various social media posts, it seems Lynch screwed Morgan out of the title, stopping a count after the Oblivion to flip the defending champ off. She did go ahead with the count for Vaquer, giving her the victory and making her champion just days before Raw hits Mexico City.
