The transfer portal is open and that means more players departing and arriving for the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team.
Starting with the additions, former Siena forward Tasman Goodrick is joining the Orange along with teammate Gavin Doty and head coach Gerry McNamara, Goodrick announced in a social media post on Wednesday.
Goodrick played just nine games in 2025-26, averaging 9.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game during his limited time on the court.
He last played on December
17, as he was sidelined for the remainder of the year with a knee injury. Siena announced in February that Goodrick had a procedure that would keep him out for several months.
Before his one year with Siena, he played one season at Division I California Baptist and another at Division II Gannon.
Goodrick is the third new player joining the Orange. Doty and Slovenian wing prospect Mark Morano Mahmutovič also recently committed to the Orange.
It also appears Syracuse will be losing its primary backup center from its 2025-26 roster.
Akir Souare, who played a limited role in 29 games during his lone year with the Orange, is entering the transfer portal, according to Steve Infanti of NewsChannel 9.
Souare averaged 0.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in 8.3 minutes per game, all coming off the bench behind William Kyle.
Souare is the seventh player from 2025-26 to enter the portal. The rest of the list includes Donnie Freeman, guards Naithan George and Luke Fennell, forwards Tyler Betsey and Aaron Womack, and center Tiefeng Diawara.
Expect more offseason news to arrive in the coming days.
