Last night was fun, wasn’t it?!
A couple of years ago, Big Blue Madness had gotten a bit stale.
If we’re being honest, it kind of felt like that meme of the grandpa getting the same shirt he’s wearing as
a gift.
But Mark Pope and Kenny Brooks injected some new life into the event, and last night was one to remember.
Obviously, the highlight of the night was John Wall returning. Wall gave new life to Kentucky Basketball in 2009 and made Kentucky cool again. Seeing him back at Rupp Arena for Big Blue Madness, where it all began 16 years before, was fantastic.
The Kenny Brooks intro was fantastic, and as much excitement as there is around the men’s team this season, Brooks has a really talented squad that could make some noise in the SEC.
Trent Noah and Amelia Hassett won the three-point contests, and Collin Chandler won the dunk contest with an assist from Wall.
Overall, this year’s Madness was a great event, and a great start to the basketball season! What was your favorite part of Big Blue Madness?
Tweet of the Day
Wall is always welcome in Lexington.
