Texas men’s cross country saw two of its members land on the SEC’s weekly honors list, according to an announcement released by conference officials earlier this week.
Specifically, Hudson Bennett was named this week’s “Men’s Runner of the Week.”
Meanwhile, Kai McCullough was recognized as this week’s “Men’s Freshman of the Week.”
Both runners earned the league’s recognition thanks to their respective performances over the weekend at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas. As Texas Athletics
also notes, McCullough claimed his first SEC weekly honor following his win in the 8K race. For Bennett, it was also his third time winning a weekly honor.
From Texas Athletics:
“Bennett … [has finished] … in 24:09.8 to help Texas capture the team title with 64 points. Bennett moved from eighth at the mile split to seventh at the 5.5K mark before closing strong to secure a top-three finish. McCullough … [scored] … in 24:20.4 as the Longhorns placed three runners among the top seven in the team scoring.”
