Amazingly, the end of October brings the first in-season official visitor article I’ve written for the 2026 season. Mike Norvell and his staff will welcome two official visitors for the night game against Clemson with hopes of generating some desperately-needed momentum on the recruiting trail.
OL Jatori Williams
The name will be familiar to folks who follow recruiting closely. Williams was Herb Hand’s top target in the summer until he abruptly committed to Miami. Now the two parties have split and Williams is back
on the open market.
Williams is 6’5, 320 pounds, and plays for Central Phenix City in Alabama. He profiles best along the interior of the line despite having played some left tackle in high school. He is a mauler with extremely strong hands, often redirecting defensive linemen and linebackers against their will once he locks in. He shows good balance and athleticism, also playing basketball for his high school, but will need to do some reshaping of his body at the next level. He is a blue-chip, considered the 114th best player in the nation per composite rankings (8th best interior OL, 3rd best player in AL). 247 considers him a top-100 player nationally.
Williams took an official visit to Alabama last weekend and will see Georgia in November. There’s no doubt that FSU will prioritize Williams and he genuinely likes Florida State, but if Georgia or Bama prioritize him as well, it’ll be tough for the ‘Noles to seal the deal.
ATH Za’Kari Johnson
Johnson reclassified into the 2027 class and committed to FSU over the summer, and the ‘Noles want to do all they can to keep him in the fold. Johnson has visited numerous programs since pledging to Florida State, including Miami, Texas A&M, and Auburn, though this weekend will mark his first official visit. FSU using it this early is an interesting gamble.
