After a week off, the Seminoles moved to 3-0 with an impressive blowout of Kent State. For the second game in a row, FSU was able to give their starters significant time off as they raced out to a 45-7
halftime lead. FSU’s offensive line paved the way for 498 rushing yards that included a 9.2 yards per carry average. In addition to the yardage, Florida State also scored eight rushing scores by five different Seminoles. In total, 12 different FSU offensive lineman recorded a snap in the win.
Each week, Tomahawk Nation will take a peek at FSU’s PFF Grades along the offensive line, offering insights into the numbers and performances Please note, any player seeing minimal snaps may be excluded due to the small sample size.

- The total score is an average of the run and pass blocking scores. The scores will be weighted more towards where the player saw the most action.
- PFF isn’t a perfect scoring system. The graders cannot know 100% of the assignments on each play.
- PFF CFB Scale: 90-100 Elite, 85-89 All-Conference, 70-84 starter, 60-69 Backup, <60 Replaceable
Florida State offensive line performance takeaways with @Ricobert11:
- Medley’s 16.5 pass blocking score on 19 snaps is a low-water mark for the unit on the season. I went back and looked at the first 5 TD drives in the first quarter. Most of the passes were PA. But on the first big pass over top to Danzy, he shot his hands and didn’t land them – this let the crashing undersized DE get up field and get Medley’s hips turned. On a later true drop back, he again missed with his hands and the result was the same. I don’t see a 16.5 pass blocking score, but he did struggle with the undersized end. He is probably done for the year seeing 245 pounders opposite him.
- Upper 50s to low 60s on run blocking amongst the starters. A serviceable effort, a theme for the season. Sufficient blocking is good enough in this offense. But can they be sufficient against Miami?
- Hansen’s 85 pass blocking grade is the highest on the year for him. Undersized OL are not an issue for him at all.
