Barcelona lost Eric Garcia to injury in the first half of Sunday’s La Liga clash against Valencia at Mestalla.
The defender was accidentally caught in the face by team-mate Rodri in the first half and couldn’t continue. He was replaced by Jules Kounde just before the half hour mark.
Early reports suggest that Eric, who broke his nose last season and played with mask for a while, may have suffered a deviated septum.
Barcelona are likely to provide an update on Garcia after the match but will be without the Spain star for their next match in the Champions League in any case.
Garcia is suspended for the midweek tie against Feyenoord due to his red card against Atletico Madrid last season.
Hansi Flick could stick with Jules Kounde for the game but also has Joao Cancelo available to feature at right-back.
Barcelona then return to action next Sunday afternoon against Levante in La Liga.
