Last week is last week, this week is this week. Dallas Cowboys fans are ready to move on from that opening loss to the New York Giants. But, those who don’t study history are doomed to repeat it.
In that spirit, we wanted to know: What is the biggest problem that needs to be fixed for the game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday?
To no one’s surprise, it’s Christian Parker’s defense. Last year has left us scarred mentally when it comes to the defense, and that game last week looked way to similar
to the ones we saw in 2025. Naturally, our PTSD was triggered.
54% of Cowboys fans chose the defense as the big issue, while ‘undisciplined play/penalties’ and ‘Brian Schottenheimer not having the team ready’ tied for second with 20% each.
Communication and youth seemed to be two of the biggest culprits crippling the defense last week. Both issues were on an accelerated learning curve this week. Coach Schottenheimer and Parker have been pretty candid about the failures.
Fortunately, the Cowboys are favored by 4.5 points at home, so the money believes they will clean things up and get in the win column.
As for confidence that the team is headed in the right direction, we’ve had a precipitous fall. Last week 89% of fans had confidence in the direction of the team. This week? 19%. Yikes.
