It is time for this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey questions, where we ask those of you who frequent the best website on the internet devoted to Minnesota Vikings football for your opinions on what is happening with our favorite football team.
We’ve got two questions for you this week, and the first one, as usual, is how confident you are
in the current direction of our favorite team. The Vikings, again, won ugly in Week 3 as they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the road by a score of 23-16. It was another struggle for the offense, even though the weather wasn’t an excuse this time around, as moving the ball once again proved challenging. However, thanks to the defense and the special teams, the purple pushed their record to 3-0 to start the season and remain one of just two undefeated teams in the NFC heading into Week 4. They’re big favorites to maintain that posture this week, as they host the winless Miami Dolphins at U.S. Bank Stadium this coming Sunday.
Speaking of the offense, they’re the subject of our other question for this week, specifically. . .best Jerry Seinfeld voice. . .what is the deal with the Vikings’ offense? (Some of you younger folks might have to Google “Jerry Seinfeld,” and that’s okay.) Through the first three weeks of the season, the Vikings are dead last in the NFL in total offense and dead last in passing yardage, though they are a fairly respectable 16th in rushing yardage. The team has managed just one offensive touchdown in the last two games. They’re second-to-last in third-down percentage (only Green Bay is worse, and not by much), including going just 5-of-28 on third down over the last two weeks. If they hadn’t gone 8-of-15 on third down in Week 1, the numbers would be even more atrocious on that front.
Suffice it to say, there are a lot of problems with the Minnesota offense right now, but we want to know what you think the biggest problem is on that side of the ball.
