Following their 97-93 win over the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, the Wisconsin Badgers are back in the AP Top 25 this week, coming in at No. 23.
Wisconsin is back in after a two-week absence and will enter the postseason in the rankings after finishing the regular season on a three-game win streak. The Badgers are one of two newcomers into the Top 25, joining Louisville, which returned to the rankings after falling out last week.
The Badgers are one of six Big Ten teams in the rankings, joining
Michigan (No. 3), Michigan State (No. 8), Illinois (No. 9), Nebraska (No. 11), and Purdue (No. 18).
With the win over Purdue, Wisconsin improved to fifth in the Big Ten and will take on the winner of the Washington Huskies and the USC Trojans in the third round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday. Tip-off is slated for 1:30 p.m.
The Badgers also saw a jump with their NCAA Tournament projections, as they’re now hovering around the No. 6 seed line heading into postseason play. With a strong run this week, perhaps they could jump up even further, but they’re looking better with their tournament projections after a good finish to the year.
The Big Ten Tournament kicks off on Tuesday and will continue through Sunday, when the Championship Game is played right before the Selection Sunday Show on CBS. Stay tuned for our coverage!
