The Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers are closing in on kickoff for their Week 5 meeting. Both teams are looking to improve on their 1-3 start to the season, hoping to climb to within a game of the .500 mark and, potentially, spark a run through the rest of the season. The teams have released their inactive players lists for the game, dropping from the 53-man roster used during the season to the 48-man in-game limit the league imposes.
Cornerback Storm Duck and wide receiver Cedrick Wilson were
both listed as out on the Friday injury report and now are on the inactive list. Duck has been dealing with an ankle injury while Wilson, who the team signed this week to fill the roster spot opened with the season-ending injury to wide receiver Tyreek Hill, has a knee issue.
Joining Duck and Wilson are running back Jaylen Wright, quarterback Quinn Ewers, and defensive tackle Zeek Biggers. The Dolphins listed Ewers as the emergency third quarterback, allowing him to enter the game if both starter Tua Tagovailoa and backup Zach Wilson were to be injured during the game.
Miami kept wide receiver Tahj Washington active this week, the first game he will be available, adding depth in the wide receiver group. They did however make a surprise move at running back, where they will be playing with just two active running backs. De’Von Achane and Ollie Gordon will be the only available played with Wright inactive. Wide receiver Malik Washington or fullback Alec Ingold could add carries if the team needs the depth options.
The Panthers had four players listed as out on the injury report on Friday and starting their inactive list for today: Running back Chuba Hubbard (calf), tight end JT Sanders (ankle), cornerback Chau Smith-Wade (chest), and defensive tackle Turk Wharton (toe). Defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy and linebacker Claudin Cherelus joined the injured players on the inactive list.
Miami and Carolina kick off at 1 p.m. Eastern.
