It’s game day … for the rest of the league! The 49ers are on their bye and following the DeForest Buckner trade, things are pretty quiet for the time-being.
The Packers beat the Panthers on Thursday to open the week, but today brings plenty of interesting football. The most significant games for the 49ers are Vikings-Lions at 10 a.m. PT and Chargers-Rams at 1:05 p.m. While a Vikings loss helps the 49ers, in reality either team losing helps.
The 49ers and Vikings face off in Mexico City in Week 11,
which will determine the head-to-head tiebreaker. I’m almost inclined to root for the Vikings to move the Lions a couple games back of the 49ers. Either helps, so it removes some stress there.
The Rams are three games back of the 49ers and they face a winless Chargers squad that is circling the drain. We’re rooting for the Chargers to drop the Rams even further down, but I’m not holding my breath there.
There’s plenty of other games that could have some implications, but those are the two most important games on the slate today. Tomorrow’s Bears-Seahawks game is a whole different animal.
Enjoy a fun day of football!
