What is the old adage? If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!
According to Bild (as recorded by @iMiaSanMia) Germany finished their final practice on Friday with an extra 15-minute with Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, and Leroy Sané, where they practiced passing and shooting. The same training took place in their final training session before Germany’s first match against Curaçao. This is a sign from Julian Nagelsmann that the same three attackers will start behind Kai Havertz for Saturday’s match against Ivory
Coast.
Though Sané did not have a goal contribution, Wirtz assisted Felix Mnecha’s opening goal and Musiala scored Germany’s fourth goal just moments into the second half. Havertz scored two goals — one from the penalty spot and one late in the match. Deniz Undav also came off the bench and scored a goal and assisted Havertz’ final goal. Ivory Coast is a tougher opponent than Curaçao, but Nagelsmann’s dilemma is a good one to have. He has plenty of attacking options to call upon.
Do you agree with the decision if Nagelsmann starts the same three behind Havertz? What changes in the attack would you make?
