Game 1 tonight. My heart (and head) still have not recovered from Game 5 but it’s time to lock in anyway.
In Mariners news…
- The Mariners will be hosting watch parties for Games 1 and 2 at Victory Hall. Looks like Humpy is going to be there!
- Speaking of Humpy, he got to take in the Kraken beating the Golden Knights last night!
- The Athletic ranked the home field advantage of the remaining playoff teams and placed T-Mobile Park at #2 behind the Rogers Centre.
- The Marinersfication of all Seattle sports is upon us.
- This is such a great compilation, but by far my favorite part is the transition from the Fox Deportes call to Rick’s call where he’s having to fully scream into the microphone to be heard over the crowd noise before the pitch is even thrown.
- The best World Series matchup would also be a historic matchup.
- A handful of players have already elected to enter minor league free agency, most of which are former Mariners.
Around the league…
- Division rival playoff series always have a little extra spice thrown in, and Cubs-Brewers was no exception. After winning Game 5 to eliminate the Cubs, the Brewers posed for their team photo with an “L” flag.
- Gleyber Torres told reporters after Detroit’s Game 5 loss that he will be undergoing surgery on a sports hernia. Torres will be entering free agency this offseason and should be ready to go for Spring Training.
- Detroit Tigers radio announcer Dan Dickerson was caught on a hot mic immediately after the Game 5 loss rather bluntly wishing he could be absolutely anywhere else doing absolutely anything else. Dickerson released an apology for the slip, but many Tigers fans were very quick to show their support.
- Yusei Kikuchi revealed that the air conditioning in the Angels weight room was broken for the entire season, and his requests to get it repaired were all ignored.
Nick’s pick…
- Babe, wake up! New Summoning Salt video just dropped!
