With the 2025 College Football season now behind us, it’s time to turn our attention to 2026.
On Monday evening, the ACC released the full conference schedules for each team. This now gives us a complete
picture of the Miami Hurricanes schedule in 2026. You can see the full ACC release here:
The 3 non-conference games on the schedule has actually been known for quite some time. In case you forgot, the ACC is slowly moving to a 9-game conference schedule, with some teams (like Miami) playing 9 conference games this year, and others playing 8. In the same conference. Mhm. That’s correct. No, it doesn’t make any sense but why, it’s the ACC.
Based upon the announced dates of several games, we already knew the placement of the non-conference slate would be as follows:
- vs Florida A&M, Thursday, September 10th, Time/TV TBA
- vs Central Michigan , Saturday, September 26th, Time/TV TBA
- at Notre Dame, Saturday, November 7th, Time/TV TBA.
Early games against FAMU and Central Michigan should pad the win total through the month of September, and a trip to South Bend to play the crybabies Fighting Irish in November will again be one of the marquee games on the schedule and in the sport as a whole.
For those who have long complained about the lack of quality in the Canes’ non-conference schedule — normally 1 marquee game against a top FBS opponent, 1 HBCU sacrificial lamb, and 2 average-at-best FBS opponents — this is the schedule of your dreams. It’s not scheduling the top 4 teams in the country on the road like I’m sure you do in your CFB25 Dynasties, but it’s among the best, and toughest, non-conference schedules of any team in the country.
The Canes’ full 2026 Schedule is here:
Week 0 — no game, August 29th
Week 1 — Miami @ Stanford, FRIDAY, September 4
Week 2 — Florida A&M vs Miami, THURSDAY, September 10th
Week 3 — Miami @ Wake Forest, FRIDAY, September 18th
Week 5 — Central Michigan vs Miami, September 26th
Week 6 — Miami @ Clemson, October 3
Week 7 – BYE WEEK — October 10th
Week 8 — Florida State at Miami, Saturday, October 17
Week 9 — Pittsburgh at Miami, October 24
Week 10 — Miami @ North Carolina, October 31st
Week 11 — Miami @ Notre Dame, November 7
Week 12 — Duke at Miami, November 14
Week 13 — Virginia Tech at Miami, FRIDAY, November 20
Week 14 — Boston College at Miami, November 28
ACC Championship Game — December 5, Noon, Charlotte, NC
First things first, after 2 straight seasons with an extra week in the fall, giving each team 2 bye weeks, we’re back to a regular 13 week window for the season. So, every team gets one bye week now, the usual structure, but I get that after 2 years with the double bye weeks, this will feel a little odd.
Miami starts the year with games on Friday, Thursday, and Friday, respectively, and both Friday games are on the road. I honestly would prefer that they were all on Thursdays, but that’s nitpicking. The road-home-road-home-road first 5 weeks will be a challenge, but it is what it is.
Miami’s schedule is broken up with 5 games in a row, then the bye week, then the final 7 games of the year. Only a 6-6 split, or 7-5 split would be better from an injury management standpoint, but overall, I’m fine with this and happy that the ACC didn’t screw us over as badly as they normally do with such things.
For the second consecutive year, Miami plays Florida State off of a bye week. That kicks off the back half of the schedule for the Canes. After a home game against Pitt, the Canes play their final 2 road games of the year: at Notre Dame and at North Carolina.
In an advantageous formation (what?!) Miami finishes the year with 3 consecutive home games. After ending the year on the road in 2025, we were due for something like this. I like it!
Also, remember last year, when everybody talked about Miami not leaving the State of Florida until November 1st? That’s out the window, since our OPENER next year is at Stanford.
In all, this is a manageable schedule for Miami, and I fully expect another strong, double-digit win season from Mario Cristobal’s Canes.
