SYRACUSE 11. LEHIGH VALLEY 1 (BOX)

Nearly everyone got in on the party for Syracuse, as every starter outside of leadoff hitter Nick Morabito, and number nine hitter Zack Short got a hit in this one. They scored early and often, plating two runs in the first inning, and scoring in third, fourth, fifth, eighth, and ninth. A rehabbing Mark Vientos drove in two, including one on a solo home run that went 109 mph off the bat. Émilien Pitre notched two extra base hits, and Billy Amick hit two home runs,

just to name a few performances.

The Mets threw a bullpen game to great effect, as the quintent of Kevin Herget, Tobias Myers (who threw an immaculate inning!), Joe Jacques, Chris Devenski, and Dylan Ross combined to give up seven hits, one run, and strike out 12.

Bighamton was the sole loser across the minor leagues for the Mets, and they were never truly in this one despite the relatively close score. They trailed 1-0 after one, before Eli Serrano homered to tie it in the second. Two home runs for Reading in the bottom of the fourth saw them put up a four spot, and the Binghamton offense could not climb out of that hole.

As you can tell from the score above, this game got a little goofy.

Hudson Valley ran out to a 4-0 lead after the third, and that score would hold until the seventh. A John Spikerman sacrifice fly and a passed ball cut the deficit in half in the seventh. A balk, of all things, scored the first run in the eighth, and a Trey Snyder sacrifice fly tied it at four.

The game would go into extras from there, and the Cyclones put the game well out of reach in the top of the tenth. They plated seven runs, scoring on a Ronald Hernandez bases loaded walk, a passed ball, and three RBI singles by Snyder, Spikerman and Colin Houck. The seven run tenth would be more than enough to finish off the win.
