She’s a freshman this year, and those two are just like my training buddies, and I love them, and the rest of the team also, from throws to cross country, everyone is awesome, and we all have a really, like, tight bond, and there’s just a really great atmosphere with all the athletes here,” Utecht said.
Other women weight throwers, Petra Gombas, Ames Burton and Kaitlyn Morningstar all placed in the top six of their event. In the women’s pole vault, Anna Vedral, Anna Ferguson and Makenna Estes placed in the top-10 during the event.

Thoughts on the Upcoming Meet
With the indoor season on its way out, the Tigers will have to showcase their depth during this weekend’s Invitationals. The idea that there will be a world class runner at the meet can be intimidating, although the team is used to competing against top-level athletes and will have to adapt to high stake environments.
That being said, their meet results from this weekend will dictate who gets to run during the SEC Indoor Championship and further along to the NCAA Indoor Championship.
