Because this is a Guardians blog, we must lead with a free agent signing even when it’s the least stimulating one any team will make this offseason.
Yes, that’s right, Austin Hedges is back for 2026. And he’s going to be making 4 million dollars at a minimum. I don’t hate having him for another season, but this is double what I think he’s worth and considering this team’s offseason budget is probably 5 million dollars, this is a really frustrating use of it.
You know all about what kind of player Hedges
is; let’s move on to greatness.
Yamamoto’s dominant complete game gives LAD 2-0 series lead
An expensive player pitched a fabulous game for an expensive team. This is how baseball games are won, and it’s no surprise that the Brewers couldn’t keep up with “complete game 3-hitter.”
The dodger bullpen is complete crap, but when your starter goes 9 innings, uh… that doesn’t matter. Home runs from T.O. Hernandez and Max Mundy provided the offense, and those costed LA a lot of money too. It is what it is. The sport needs a fairer system. Maybe they’ll slump at a bad time and not win another championship. Maybe they won’t.
Blake Snell, another expensive Dodger, is making history this October.
