It has been a long while since we have looked at the New York Giants to see how much injuries and other roster decisions have impacted the 53-man roster. With Mike Kafka now interim head coach in place
of Brian Daboll, this feels like a good time to do that.
Offense
Two things about the offense:
- It is going to be interesting to see the playing time split between Jalin Hyatt and Isaiah Hodgins with Darius Slayton out against the Green Bay Packers.
- Evan Neal is out this week with a hamstring. Is he headed toward injured reserve as the Giants move on from their 2022 seventh overall pick?
Defense
If you have not been paying attention, there are a lot of new names at linebacker and in the secondary.
Special teams
It is interesting to see Deonte Banks’ name here. So, far it looks like he is a better return man than cornerback.
