AEW Blood & Guts is fast approaching in four weeks. The violent event is scheduled for November 4 in Jacksonville, Florida. The ideal situation would be for storylines peaking to blow off a feud in Blood & Guts. I don’t think AEW is in that sweet spot right now, and four weeks might not be enough to get there. Of course, there are logical choices to pick for Blood & Guts based on story directions, but it’s not at blood feud levels yet.
That leads to the question. Who do you want to see in Blood &
Guts this year?
For the men, there are three factions that could wage war with one another. The United Empire led by Will Ospreay, the Death Riders led by Jon Moxley, and the Callis Family led by Don Callis are the candidates.
Blood & Guts usually has five or six members per squad. Ospreay’s crew in AEW appears to have four members, including Andrade El Idolo, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, and Francesco Akira. I’m not sure if Akira is actually part of the AEW crew. Ospreay could also call in for reinforcements from NJPW. The Death Riders currently stand as Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, and Gabe Kidd. Marina Shafir is on the outside, and the Dogs are fringe affiliates. The Callis Family have endless numbers.
In my opinion, the two most interesting options are either Ospreay recruiting Moxley to help fill out his squad against the Callis Family or AEW does a three-way dance inside the cage. There is precedent set for a three-way WarGames match in NXT in 2017. That contest was Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, & Bobby Fish versus Roderick Strong & the Authors of Pain versus Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe, & Killian Dain.
On the women’s side, the Blood & Guts core I want to see is Mercedes Moné & Divine Dominion against the Triangle of Madness. The problem is that makes it heel versus heel, and it doesn’t make sense for the star babyfaces, like the Brawling Birds, to pick a side. Perhaps AEW could do three teams here. A different alternative would be the return of the Royal Rampage for the women instead of Blood & Guts. I loved that battle royal concept across two rings, and AEW hasn’t run it since Rampage ended.
If I have to make a choice now, I would go with:
- Will Ospreay, Andrade El Idolo, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Jon Moxley, & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis, Hechicero, & El Clon
- Mercedes Moné, Megan Bayne, & Lena Kross vs. Thekla, Julia Hart, & Skye Blue vs. Willow Nightingale, Jamie Hayter, & Alex Windsor
So, I turn the question back over you. Who do you want to see in AEW Blood & Guts 2026? Do you think the wrestlers will come from an entirely different storyline?
