Say what you want about Joe Burrow, but he’s entertaining and he recently recounted growing up and watching Thanksgiving football and of course watching the Detroit Lions and their once upon a time quarterback, Matthew Stafford.
Burrow made the funny recollection that he would basically eat food on Thanksgiving, and watch Stafford ball out, but he also quipped that Stafford and the Lions would usually “probably lose”, but it was still fun to watch Stafford and football in general.
I think it’s funny,
I think it’s all in good fun, but some may see it as bit of a jab at Stafford. You can watch the clip below and decide for yourself. This is a free country after all.
Look, Stafford has beaten Burrow in a Super Bowl, Burrow knows that. So, I don’t really see this as much of a jab as just a funny comment, but to each their own.
Either way, I am thanking for this Rams’ season (so far). It’s been terrific. They’ve responded from tough losses, and they’ve actually been fun (and stressful at times) to watch, so on this great holiday of ours, I really am thankful for the Rams’ season (again, so far).
I am also thankful to our readers, viewers, commenters and lurkers and all of you! Can’t be here without you.
Have a great holiday, a happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the football today!
Forever and always, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times!
Joe Burrow gives Matthew Stafford a backhanded compliment over Thanksgiving memories (ramswire)
“I think just like a lot of kids, you grow up going through Thanksgiving, you have your meals with your family and then you go and sit on the couch,” he said. “Typically, there’s not a lot on except football. Back in the day, it was Lions and somebody. Go watch Matthew Stafford throw for 300, 400-something yards with Calvin Johnson and probably lose the game. But it was fun to watch.”
Rams vs. Panthers Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction (sportsinteraction.com)
“The NFC’s hottest team heads to Charlotte as the Los Angeles Rams face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at 1:00 pm ET. With a dominant 34-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles has now won six straight and moved into the NFC’s No. 1 seed. During this dominant six-week run, the Rams (+425) have emerged as Super Bowl LX favourites, and quarterback Matthew Stafford is now the favourite to win the league’s MVP award at -235.”
Rams catch a massive break ahead of their Week 13 showdown with Panthers (ramblinfan)
“Not that the Los Angeles Rams, the NFC’s No. 1 seed and winners of six straight games, may not have asked for any help, but they certainly got it. Their upcoming matchup with the Carolina Panthers just got softer, and it has nothing to do with them.
The NFL has suspended Panthers standout safety Tre’Von Moehrig without pay for one game “for an act of unsportsmanlike conduct,” per an official league announcement. For those who didn’t see, he appeared to deliver a low blow to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings in Carolina’s Week 12 loss.“
